Three Christians Punished Under Amended Iranian law

Tehran-Iran: Three Christian men have been punished under the newly amended Iranian law (Article 500), reports thealabamabaptist.org. According the report, Amin Khaki, Milad Goudarzi and Alireza Nour Mohammadi have received a maximum of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of US$1,600 each. They were punished for initiating ‘propaganda’ against Islam. Three men will appeal to the court in response to the punishment announced.

The new amendments in the law increases prison terms. It also enables the state to deny some rights such as voting for several years. Earlier Christians received a punishment up to 6 months.
