On 20 December 2012, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, awarded the order of Saint Andrew the Apostle Protector of Romania to Mr. Catalin Marinescu, President of the National Authority for Administration and Regulations in Communications, in Europa Christiana hall of the Patriarchate Palace, in the presence of the members of the Church National Council.
On this occasion, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel thanked Mr Catalin Marinescu for having supported the extension of Trinitas Radio network: “We wish to express our gratitude which we must do not only on one day, but any time we have the opportunity to do it. The extension of Trinitas Radio station especially in Transylvania was both a moral duty for us and a pastoral – missionary strategy because in that part of the country the Orthodox co-inhabit with some other Christian confessions and even those of a different confession are glad to listen to the religious and cultural programmes inspired by the Christian faith. We have both an Orthodox pastoral – missionary activity, and a confession of the Christian values in a world in which everything is changing very quickly, so that we must keep up with the world and be faithful to tradition too. In other words, tradition has both an aspect of constancy and a dynamic one in order to adapt to the needs of the time.” Mr Catalin Marinescu said in his turn: “It is a special honour for me to receive this order so much the more as I receive it from you. It was a duty and a pleasure for me to help the development of the radio of the Romanian Orthodox Church so that it should cover almost the entire territory of Romania. I said a duty because I know from my parents what a joy it is to bring Trinitas Radio station into the Romanians’ houses, and a pleasure because I found a special partner in Trinitas Radio, as well as some special experts and to our great surprise, who are engineers, we found some of the best engineers of a quite special studio”.
