SVS Press Summer Sale: Orthodox ecology summit

SVOTS – 14/6/19

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, “The Green Patriarch,” is concerned there is so much left to be done when it comes to the Church and pressing environmental issues. After the third Halki Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, which wrapped up last week, he is looking to Orthodox seminaries and theological schools to step up their attention and focus.

A couple of our faculty members and a few alumni participated in Halki III, May 31 to June 4. Dr. Tracy Davis Gustilo chaired the session on eco-theological curriculum, and she wrote a report about the summit and what comes next for St. Vladimir’s and other seminaries. You can read that on our website, here.

Also last week, alumni from St. Vladimir’s represented the Orthodox Church in America at the 98th Session of the North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation. Click here for more information about the gathering, which was held in New Hampshire.
