The Sopana Academy of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church has honored Dr Christine Chaillot the legendary pan-orthodox activists with their first ever award for studies in theology and culture. The award was presented to Dr Chaillot by His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II – Catholicos of the East on the Apostolic Throne of St Thomas and Metropolitan of Malankara.
The vent was held on 11th September 2014 at the headquarters of the the Sopana Academy in Kottayam district of Kerala State. Fr Dr K M George, Metropolitan Yuhanona Mar Demetrios of Delhi and several other dignitaries made felicitations. Many Orthodox faithful and prelates from different part of the sate attended the function.
Dr Christine Chaillot has made enormous contributions to the pan-orthodox movement particularly to the theological dialogue between Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. She is a well known expert on ancient Oriental Orthodox Churches. Dr Chaillot has produced large number of literature on Orthodox unity studies.
