Patriarchal Holy Qurobo in Frias

Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate – 25/6/19

On June 20, 2019, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Georges Church in Frias – Argentina.

His Holiness was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Chrysostomos Youhanna Ghassaly, Patriarchal Vicar in Argentina, and Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Director of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh.

In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the time between the Ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Pentecost, during which the Church celebrates the Lord’s promises. He also spoke about Simon Peter who had renounced the Lord, but repented and became courageous after the Pentecost, going out in public and preaching and gathering many souls for the church and the glory of God. He mentioned the importance of the renewal in the Holy Spirit in keeping the faith and holding firmly to it.

His Holiness also expressed his joy to be among the Syriac people in Frias and he blessed them all asking the Lord to protect His small flock in Frias.
