BEIRUT: Greek Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim said Thursday it was time for the Orthodox community to promote its role in Lebanon, following years of marginalization in state institutions.
The patriarch made his remarks during discussions with the Orthodox Gathering, which has recently resumed its efforts to boost the role of the community in Lebanese state institutions.
“Our church has been marginalized and it is time for it to see light,” the patriarch said. Ignatius IV urged all members of the Greek Orthodox community to work together.
