Church of Serbia – 12/5/21
Patriarch Porfirije: The Holy Apostle Mark wrote about God uncreated, about God without beginning and end, who, limiting himself to the human body, came among us not by chance, not for some adventurous motives, not because he had to, but because he came among us because he is essentially love. God who is love out of love created the whole world as the crown of the human world. God came into this world as love for our salvation.
On the occasion of the church Patron Saint-day, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark on Tasmajdan, on May 8, 2021, on St. Mark’s Day.
After the liturgy around the church and the consecration of the slava offerings, Patriarch Porfirije delivered a sermon on the Holy Evangelist Mark, in which he emphasized the importance of the holy tradition of the Church that we should follow in order to build evangelical virtues in ourselves.
His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije was concelebrated by the head of the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade, Archpriest Vasily Tarasyev, archimandrite Danilo (Ljubotinja), protopresbyter-staurophor Radic Radicevic, archpriest Sava Petrovic, hieromonk Sava (Bundalo), priest Miodrag Ristic, deacons Radomir Vrucinic, Vladimir Rumenic and Nikola Kostic, as well as subdeacons Vladimir Jelic and Njegos Stikic.
