Orthodox Christians in Montenegro Protests the Newly Proposed Religious Law

Metropolitan Amfilohije: All that has been done on Earth against the name of God and the justice that radiates from that name – all that is lawlessness.

A protest gathering of the clergy and monastics of the Metropolitanate of the Montenegro-Littoral and Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic was held before the Parliament of Montenegro on the occasion of the beginning of а parliamentary session at which the ruling majority intends to adopt а discriminatory law on freedom of religion.

It was preceded by a procession from the Cathedral, led by the Metropolitan Amfilohije  of Montenegro and the Littoral and Bishops Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic as well as of Metodije of Dioclea. Bishop Metodije of Dioclea read the proclamation of the Saint Basil Church-People Assembly held in Niksic last Saturday.

In his address, Metropolitan Amfilohije urged all the deputies, especially those of Roman Catholic and Islamic denominations, not to vote for this discriminatory act.
