Kerala-India: The letter delivered from the desk of Mr. George Joseph (the Chairman of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) to the Serbian Church in response to the alarming situation in Montenegro.

His Holiness Irinej
Patriarch of Serbia
Metropolitan Amfilohije Radović of Montenegro and the Littoral,
and Venerable Members of the Bishops’ Council

Respected Your Holiness, His Grace Metropolitan Amfilohije and Venerable Members of the Holy Synod

We have come to read about the persecution our people are undergoing in Montenegro and the arrest of Bishop Joanikije of Budimlye-Niksic along with seven priests under the guise of Corona virus-related precautions. We perceive this as an attack on the independence of the Serbian Orthodox Church, who as a Church has been standing for peace and justice to humanity as Jesus taught and carried down the generations through our Spiritual Fathers.

OCP Secretariat Slams Anti-Church Law in Montenegro

We express our solidarity with Serbian Orthodox Church on this occasion and pray before the Almighty that the sufferings being undergone by our sister Church is pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ that the Church rise up from this persecution courageously to carry out our true witnessing more vigorously without fear of anybody, but only for Fear of God. We embrace this opportunity to convey our affection and love to Bishop Joanikije and those priests that they come out of their captivity soon.

In Christ

George Joseph
Chairman
Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society
