Catholicos to consecrate Ahmedabad Diocesan Chapel

AHMEDABAD ~ July 12, 13, 2013 will mark an important day in the annals of Orthodox Diocese of Ahmedabad (ODA).
On July 12, HH Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan HH Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, will lead the consecration celebrations of the Aramana Chapel and the new block of St Thomas Bishop House.

On July 13, the Catholicos after leading the Holy Eucharist at the St Thomas Chapel, Naroda (Diocesan HQ) will inaugurate the new block and hand over the authorisation of the land for the Deveria project and Gandhi Smaran Orthodox Heritage Centre. The Catholicate Day collection proceeds of the Diocese will also be handed over the Catholicos which will be followed by a meeting of the Diocesan Assembly.

The Assembly meeting will be held under the Presidentship of HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Diocesan Metropolitan. The meeting will discuss several upcoming projects including the Diocesan land at Dehegam, mission project at Gandhidham and present and pass the Annual Report and Accounts for 2012-2013.

Later in the evening at 3 pm, the Catholicos will lay the foundation stone for the proposed St Mary’s International Public Residential School (CBSE syllabus) at Dehegam.

HG Thomas Mar Athanasios, Metropolitan of Chengannur Diocese, will bless the occasion with his prayers and presence. Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, and Fr Jacob Mathew, Diocesan Secretary have extended their cordial invitation and solicited the presence and participation with family on both the days and to make the event a great success.
