Agreement on Cooperation between the Gevorkian Theological Seminary and the Orthodox Academy of Saint Petersburg

Armenian-Russian Orthodox Churches

At the beginning of the 2011 academic year, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Orthodox Academy of Saint Petersburg of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The agreement, consisting of nine points, refers to the development of joint educational, scientific, publication and teaching programs. Within the scope of the agreement there will be an exchange of students and professors, and an introduction of new educational methods in scientific and technical field.

Rev. Fr. Gevorg Saroyan, Dean of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary, will travel to St Petersburg to participate in the opening ceremony of the library of the Theological Academy of the Russian Orthodox Church. During the visit Rev. Fr. Gevorg will discuss the forthcoming projects of cooperation with His Grace Bishop Ambrosios, Rector of the Academy.

Agreements on intercollegiate cooperation are also being developed with spiritual institutions in England, Norway, Austria and Italy.
