Achievements of OCP- MARP™ Initiative since 2009 

  • An exclusive research project on Western Rite Orthodox communities of Oriental Orthodox Churches with special reference to Syriac-Malankara Orthodox Churches.
  • MARP is the longest and most expensive Western Rite Research project in the Indian Sub-Continent.   
  • The historic visit of OCP delegation to Brahmavar Western Rite Orthodox Community (in 2009) and submission of community report to the Holy Synod of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church. The initial launch of Research studies on Western Rite Orthodox Communities.
  • The rediscovery of Community of St. Gregorious of Parumala in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu by Dr. Ajesh T Phlip in 2010.
  • The launch of Metropolitan Alvares Julius Research Project -MARP in 2013.
  • The rediscovery of the Chempatty Church by Dr. Ajesh T Philip in 2013.
  •  The rediscovery of the lost Cathedral (Our Lady of Good Death) of Alvares Julius in Colombo in the year 2014.
  • Field visits with Metropolitan Yuhanon Diascorous of Chennai in Dindigul and Sempatty area.
  • Visit and collection of important data from the mission field of Metropolitan Alvares Julius in South India and Sri Lanka.
  • The rediscovery of the old visitor’s diary and document written by late lamented Metropolitan Thomas Mar Dynosious from St. James Independent Catholic Church, Sempatty in 2014.
  • The rediscovery of Tablet (Tablito) from the Holy Epiphany Church (Muvarsar Alayam) in  July 2015.
  • Published first-ever research publication (book) on the Western Rites of Syriac-Malankara Orthodox Churches in 2018.
  • Patriarch Abba Seraphims Book published ‘As Far As East Is From The West’ in response to the Western Rites of Syriac-Malankara Orthodox Churches in December 2018. 
  • Second Part of the Western Rite book launched in August 2019.
