His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in the World Summit in Defense of Persecuted Christians, in Washington DC.

Many Christian leaders from throughout the world gave talks on the persecution of Christians in different countries as well as ways to support them and help promote religious freedom.

His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Eastern USA, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
