On 19 June 2014, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania received at the Patriarchal Residence the visit of the editors and coordinators of the national and regional editions of “Lumina” newspaper.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel spoke to those present about the responsibility of the church journalists: “We do hope that the activity of this newspaper will continue; it is a chronicle of the most important events of our Church; I think that when the history of these years is written, people will first see what “Lumina” newspaper highlighted. Thus, a great range of themes and information is seen, while Media Christiana publications are welcomed because they gather and remind what was most profound and topical in the church life from a spiritual point of view.
We are glad because this newspaper developed well and enriched itself due to the fact that the regional editions brought one more contribution that only the national edition could not emphasise. We wish you much help of God and the joy to be enlighteners of souls and promoters of hope. It is very important to be topical and know, at the same time, the history and present of the church activity. But, besides the activity unfolded the deep spiritual aspects of the church life and of the Christian thought must be pointed out, especially in “Lumina de Duminica” newspaper”.
To end with, the present journalists received symbolic presents on behalf of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
