On 16 February 2012, the Holy Synod met for the first time in 2012. The meeting of the Holy Synod takes place in the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
To start with the working session the Patriarch of Romania thanked God for the blessings poured over the works of all the hierarchs of the eparchies in the country and abroad, and congratulated those who did good pastoral deeds of mission, spiritual and material elevation.
At the same time His Beatitude expressed his joy for the missionary works unfolded in the eparchies of the Romanian Patriarchate showing that the souls’ shepherds, hierarchs, priests, monks, hieromonks, archimandrites, protosingelos, bring hope where it is despair and joy where it is sadness.
The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church emphasised the aid granted by the Church these days in the areas affected by the heavy snowfall, showing that this work must be continued.
“Everything that appears in our life and community asks for more responsibility and brotherly aid from us. May God help us always work for the peace, unity and mission of the Church, because we are only the servants not the masters of the Church, we are called to serve and bring the grace of love of the Most Holy Trinity at all levels, of the eparchy, deanery, parish, monastery, skete, so that the world should feel that our God is love and this love is manifested through those who have the Spirit of Christ and become the hands of the love of Christ for their fellow beings”, said His Beatitude.
