Georgia’s Patriarchate presumably will be involved in the negotiations on restoring Georgian cultural heritage in Turkey and construction of a mosque in Batumi, “Rustavi 2” informs the Deputy Minister of culture and Monument Protection Marine Mizandari states about it.
Mizandari says that the decision was reached on yesterday’s meeting between her and the Patriarch. “We discussed this with the Patriarch, of course the representatives of the Patriarchate will be involved in the process of restoring the churches”, Mizandari says.
The Deputy Minister says that Georgian specialists will also be engaged in the process. The Georgian side will allot finances for this purpose.
“Turkey carries out Oshki and Ishkani rehabilitation so it finances the process. I think it would be more logical that the Georgian party allots funds for Georgian specialists to take part in the process”, the Deputy Minister said.
