Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Meets Crown Prince of Bahrain

Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate – 22/11/18

On November 21, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met with His Excellency Crown Prince of Bahrain His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifah, at the Crown Prince’s palace in Manama, Bahrain.

His Excellency welcomed His Holiness and expressed his pleasure to meet with the head of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch. His Holiness thanked His Excellency for his warm welcome and showed his gladness towards religious tolerance in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During their meeting, His Holiness and His Excellency discussed various cultural and religious issues, and spoke about the history of our Syriac Church and that of the Arab countries, especially in Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by their Eminences: Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin and Secretary of the Regional Episcopal Synod in India, Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Patriarchal Vicar in Bahrain, Mor Anthimos Matthews, Patriarchal Vicar in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates, as well as Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
