The first apostolic visit of His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II to  the monastery of Saint Jakob of Sarug in Warburg, Germany. A spiritual reception took place and many volunteers prepared a terrific scene to welcome His Holiness.

His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited the Syriac Orthodox Churches of Giessen: Mor Barsaumo, Mor Hadbshabo, Mor Eliyo and Mor Aphrem and Theodoros.  His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany and their Eminnences: Mor Nicolaos Matta Abdelahad, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of Foreign Relations in Germany, Mor Polycarpus Augin Aydin, Patriarchal Vicar in the Netherlands and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary.  His Holiness prayed in the four churches and blessed the people who gathered welcoming him.
