Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II Meets a Delegation from Multaqa Al-Adyan (the Encounter of Religions)

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Grace Al-Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, Head of the Encounter of the Religions (Multaqa Al-Adyan) accompanied by a delegation from the Encounter, at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh.

His Holiness stressed the importance of young people from all religions to have common activities together as well as workshops that strengthen the relationship between them.

He also spoke about the role of the curricula of religious education in the formation of generations that respect everyone, regardless of their faith and religious affiliation. The values of tolerance and openness to the other are highly needed in this world torn apart with violence and fanaticism. His Holiness confirmed that he believes that there is no future for us in our homeland except living together as citizens of our one country.

His Grace Al-Sayyed Ali Fadlallah emphasized that the main problem is the lack of spiritual values. He also asked for the support of His Holiness asking for his guidance.
