Addis Ababa- Ethiopia: Patriarch Abune Mathias (Co-Patriarch and Catholicos of Ethiopia, Archbishop of Axum, and Ichege of the See of Saint Taklehaimanot) extended his gratitude to Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society), sister Orthodox Churches and the Roman Catholic Church (during the bi-annual synod meeting of the Ethiopian Church). The gratitude was expressed in response to the solidarity expressed by the OCP Society in response to the horrific persecution and violence encountered by Christians in Ethiopia, especially in the Oromia region.
