Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate – 8/10/17

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inaugurates the multipurpose hall “Syriac Community Hall” at Mor Aphrem Center in New Jersey.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by their Eminences Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Eastern USA, Mor Theethose Yeldho, Metropolitan of the Malankara Archdiocese of North America, and Mor Silvanus Ayub, Knanaya Archbishop for Europe and America, in addition to monks, priests and a crowd of the faithful parishioners of the Vicariate.

His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak gave a speech in which he thanked the Lord for making this project come to light. His Eminence said that it is a great event in the life of the Archdiocese of the Eastern United States, and an important milestone for our Syriac community. He then thanked His Holiness for presiding over the inauguration festivities wishing him long life and good health.

In his word, His Holiness expressed his great happiness to see that the involvement of many in the building of this hall brought forth this huge edifice which is worthy of the name of our people and their aspirations. His Holiness wished that the hall will be a place where our Syriac people will meet to celebrate together spiritual and social events. At the end of his word, he prayed that this project helps in further engagement of the faithful together as a community.

The ceremony was followed by a celebratory banquet.
