OCP Secretary received by Archbishop Abune Samuel of Ethiopia

Addis Ababa: Archbishop Abune Samuel the head of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission (EOC-DICAC) received George Alexander during the last week of October 2013. (EOC DICAC is the development wing of the church, which was established by a legal notice No. 415 of 1972 and is the oldest Faith Based Organisation in the country. It maintains a large number of projects inside Ethiopia on HIV prevention, water supply, agriculture, gender equality and several other areas which benefit more than 6 million people).

Secretary visited Abune Samuel at his residence. A detailed discussion on developing the need of Oriental Orthodox Church unity and the importance of organizing a second Addis Ababa Conference were made at the meeting.

Secretary presented Abune Samuel with OCP icon of the Holy Theotokos, St Ephrem the Syrian and St Mark of Ephesus. Abune Samuel presented George with a special wooden Ethiopian cross and a publication written by the Archbishop himself.
