Moscow, December 12, Interfax – The Moscow Patriarchate again urges to support Russian people.
“I hope that life of Russian people will get adequate, worthy support in course of working out and realizing state programs of policy on national field formed in our state,” head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said on Friday at a conference in the Russian Academy of national economy and state service at the Russian President.
According to him, Russia is a multinational country, each of peoples living in it, contributed to its historical image, but “at the same time Russia has always been the country with Russian people and Holy Orthodoxy in its center.”
“Strong Russian people will always help other peoples of our country, and, may be, people of the world, to express themselves. It has happened in history more than once, perhaps it will happen more than once in the future. Weakness of Russian people, unfortunately, threatens with problems in interethnic relations, that won’t be useful to any of peoples living in Russia. We know it pretty well from examples of the two first decades of the 20th century and 1990s,” the priest said.
