Metropolitan Porfirije officiated the Holy Liturgy in Ljubljana

On Sunday, 24th after Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Ljubljana.

The Metropolitan was concelebrated by Archimandrite Danilo, hieromonk Vitaly from the Russian Orthodox Church, protopresbyter-stavrophor Peran Boskovic, hieromonk Nikon, presbyter Aleksandar Obradovic, presbyter Dejan Mandic and deacons Dragan Radic and Zoran Radic. Many believers of the parish of Ljubljana fulfilled this beautiful church. Along with the choir of this church, students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of Belgrade brightened up with their liturgical chanting this liturgical gathering. Along with their professors Dr. Nenad Milosevic and Dr. Dragan Karan, these students are paying a visit to the Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana. The guests are accompanied by monk Nikodim from the monastery of Saint Paul from Mount Athos.

All the present at the gathering after the Liturgy also summoned at the agape feast, prepared at the Parish house of the church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Also there Metropolitan held a sermon regarding the Christmas Fast.

The same day, in the evening, Metropolitan Porfirije met with Mayor of Ljubljana Mr. Zoran Jankovic.

On Sunday, 23 November 2014 His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana attended the ceremony of consecration and enthronement of new Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ljubljana Stanislav Zora at the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Ljubljana.

Pope Francis appointed Mons. Stanislav Zore, the member of the Franciscan order, the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ljubljana  in October 2014, so he succeeded Mons. Anton Stres. The ceremony of enthronement was officiated by Papal Nuncio in Slovenia Dr. Iulius Ianus. Representatives of various religious communities in Slovenia as well as representatives of the Slovenian public, cultural and political life attended this event. President of the Republic of Slovenia Mr. Borut Pahor, Prime Minister Mr. Mira Cerar and President of the Assembly Mr. Milan Brglez were also present.
