Metropolitan Mar Yulios convenes Ahmedabad Diocesan General Assembly, to discuss mission and upcoming projects

AHMEDABAD, India ~ HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan of Ahmedabad Diocese, has convened an important annual meeting of the Diocesan General Assembly of the Diocese on July 13, Saturday. The meeting is scheduled to begin from11 am at the Diocesan Headquarters at St Thomas Chapel, Naroda, Ahmedabad.

In a Bull No 59-13, dated June 5, 2013 and signed during the Metropolitan’s ongoing US visit from St Gregorios Orthodox Church, Chicago, Dr Mar Yulios has called upon all the representatives elected from the respective parishes to the Diocesan Assembly along with the Vicars to attend the meeting on time.

The primary agenda for the General Assembly will include discussing various projects like the diocesan land at Dehegam, Diocesan Mission Project at Gandhidham and other upcoming projects.

Ahmedabad Diocese, registered as a Trust, realising the cause of education for Orthodox children and others in Gujarat and adjoining states have purchased a prime 4.1 acre land at Dehegam about 16 kilometres from Ahmedabad International Airport in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Greater City limits. It is here that the proposed St Mary’s International School, a chapel, seminary and the final resting place for the Metropolitan will come up. The General Assembly will also present and pass the Annual Report and Accounts for 2012-13, Annual Accounts for 2012-13, present the Internal and Statutory Audit Report. The meeting will also appoint an Internal and Statutory Auditor for 2013-14.

Dr Mar Yulios in his role as the Diocese Metropolitan head will deliver the presidential address. His Grace has accorded his Apostolic Blessings to the Vicars, associate Vicars, Members of the Managing Committee, Members of the Diocesan Assembly and all the faithful of the Parishes in the Diocese of Ahmedabad.
