On December 25, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia attended the New Year reception at the Kremlin.
Among representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church who took part in the reception were also Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna; Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Metropolitan Merkury of Rostov and Novocherkassk, chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechization; Bishop Tikhon of Yegorievsk, executive secretary of the Patriarchal Council for Culture; and Mr. Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the Synodal Department for Church-Society and Media Relations.
Addressing all those present, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated them on the coming New Year.
