USA: The hierarchy and faithful of the Russian Patriarchal Parishes (in the United States, and Mexico) celebrated the 50th establishment anniversary and the canonical union of parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in North America.
The anniversary of the repose Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), the first Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA was also celebrated on the occasion.
Russian Orthodox Patriarchal Parishes in the USA in common are those united with the Moscow Patriarchate even after granting autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) in 1970. Presently there are more than 45 parishes (organized under three deaneries). Bishop Matthew of Sourozh is the interim Administrator of the Russian Patriarchal Parishes.
