Feast of Saint John the Baptist in Novi Sad

On Monday, 20 January 2014, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa celebrated its Patron Saint-day by serving the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral church in Novi Sad

The Bishop of Backa was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops: Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, David of Krusevac, Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac and Porfirije of Jegar with thirteen presbyters and eleven deacons.

In the glory of the God and in honor of Saint John the Baptist during the Holy Liturgy students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of Belgrade, as well as attendees of the Church Chanting School at the Church-school congregation of Novi Sad, sang responses.

Bishop Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac addressed with the homily to His Grace Bishop Irinej as well as all gathered bishops and priests.

After the Holy Liturgy Bishop Jovan of Sumadija blessed the slava cake at the Episcopal palace and congratulated the Patron Saint-day to the celebrants, Bishops Irinej and Porfirije.
