The Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem – January 2019

Saturday the 5th of January the Armenians in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast day of the Saints David, the prophet-king and of James, the brother of the Lord. St. James the brother of our Lord is also called St. James the Just, or St. James the Less.

Over the original burial site in the Cathedral stands the Throne of St. James. The Throne of St. James is used for two occasions only: the feast day of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and on the occasion of the enthronement of a new Patriarch.
