Deputy President of the Ruska Duma in the church of Saint Sava

Deputy President of the Russian State Duma and high official of the party “United Russia” Mr. Sergej Zeleznyak visited the Memorial Cathedral of Saint Sava in the Vracar Districkt accompanied by Mr. Marko Djuric, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on 26 December 2016.

The high official from our friendly country of Russia was welcomed by the Principal of the Cathedral of Saint Sava His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica, Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, who together with the guests toured the Memorial Cathedral of Saint Sava and explained them in brief the  history of the church.

In the crypt of the Cathedral Bishop Arsenije served the memorial service for the members of the official Russian military choir Aleksandrov who died on 25 December 2016 in the plane crash above the Black Sea. On behalf of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Bishop Arsenije of Toplica expressed condolences to the Vice President of the Russian Duma Mr. Sergej Zeleznyak and the Russian people.
