Damascus-Syria: Bishop Armash Nalbandian of Damascus of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church sent a letter to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expressing the gratitude of the Syrian-Armenian Community for the Syrian Parliament’s official adoption of the resolution to recognize the Armenian genocide.
Last week, the Parliament of the Syrian Arab Republic (People’s Council of Syria) recognized the intentional and brutal killing of the 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Turks.
Armenian Genocide was one of the worst crimes against humanity, committed by the Ottoman Turks against the Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire during the W.W. I. Syriacs, Arameans, Assyrians, and Greeks were killed in large numbers as well.
