On 4 June 2012, Basilica Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate celebrated its dedication day, the feast of the Holy Trinity.
The journalists and the employees of the five branches of the Press Centre attended, on this occasion, the Divine Liturgy and the Te Deum celebrated in the Patriarchal Cathedral by His Grace Varlaam Ploiesteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch.
His Grace explained that His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel put Basilica Press Centre under the protection of the Most Holy Trinity because it has the vocation to announce in society the saving deifying love of God glorified in the Trinity. To end with the religious service, His Grace Varlaam Ploiesteanul read the message of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel addressed to the employees of Basilica Press Centre – as Lumina newspaper informs us.
The same day, the journalists of the Press Centre of the Patriarchate, some of them accompanied by members of their families, among whom children, were received at the Patriarchate Palace by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel who congratulated and encouraged them to keep their enthusiasm and dedication in this communicating service included in the church programme designed to deify the secularised society.
The more secularised Europe is, the more the Christians who are still faithful must intensify their spiritual work. Secularisation cannot be counteracted with secularised means, but only with holiness and spirituality, because never something lasting can be built in the long run on a spiritual vacuum”, said His Beatitude. “To be mass media employee of the Word means to do one’s duty with no conditions. We can never quantify the value of the activity we develop. We do not know how many souls are touched by the word of Trinitas Radio and Television, of Lumina newspaper, or of the news and communiqués published, but we do know that we try to do our duty. We sow, but God makes the seeds bear fruit”, also said His Beatitude.
