Armenian new chapel was consecrated in Marneul district, Georgia

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, ARMENPRESS: Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan consecrated ‘’ Holy Avetaranchants’’ chapel of Karmir village in Marneul district, Georgia. The chapel was built by the initiative of community member Vilik Khachaturyan and by the assistance of the community members and Primacy, Georgian Diocese of the Armenian informed Armenpress.

A festive mood prevailed among the people gathered around the chapel. The chapel hosted the quests from Armenia and Georgian capital Tbilisi. Advisor to the President of Georgia, ‘’ Georgia’’ newspaper editor Van Bayburtyan was present at the ceremony. The sacred ceremony of the chapel consecration was concluded by Liturgy by shepherd Moses Ashuryan.

At the end of the Liturgy the Holy Father read the sermon and conveyed the blessings of Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II. Then the Primate distributed souvenirs to the sponsors and the builders of the chapel.

‘’Holy Avetaranchats’’ is the only operating chapel among eight communities. The Diocese is sure that newly appointed shepherd will initiate reopening of new chapels and churches in other villages as well.
