Sofia. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has been awarded an honorary degree of the University of Library Studies and Information Technology, FOCUS News Agency reported.
The degree was presented by the university rector, professor Stoyan Denchev. Patriarch Kirill received also a gift from the university management – a picture of the Russian church in Sofia by Pavel Mitkov. He delivered a long speech, speaking about spiritual values in the contemporary world.
The ceremony was attended by the Bulgarian bishops Dometian, Kiril and Naum, director of the Directorate for Religions Emil Velinov, Russian ambassador to Sofia Yuriy Isakov, Chairman of the State Agency for National Security, Chairwoman of the State Commission for Information Security Tsveta Markova, academician Anton Donchev.
Two books by Patriarch Kirill published in Bulgarian were presented. This was the end of his visit to Bulgaria.
