On 12 April 2012, His Holiness Aram I received in his office the talented singer Hasmig Babyan, accompanied by representatives of Hamazkayin – the Armenian Cultural and Educational Society, and the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
Ms. Babyan, who lives in Vienna, is a well known operatic and concert singer. She was recently invited to sing in concerts organized by the two associations.
His Holiness Aram I expressed his appreciation for the 25 years of singing career of Hasmig Babyan in Armenia and in different countries of the world, and gave her an Armenian Cross. The Catholicos had already decorated her with the insigne of St. Mesrob Mashdotz in 2004.
