Feast at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sibiu

According to the site mitropolia-ardealului.ro, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, together with His Eminence Cchrisostom, Metropolitan of Patras, who leads the delegation of Greece that brought the Holy Head of Saint Andrew the Apostle, and hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, arrived tonight at Sibiu.

The outstanding guests of Sibiu stopped at the Metropolitan Cathedral, where a Te Deum service was celebrated, while the Holy Head was laid for worshipping. His Eminence Laurentiu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, welcomed the guests in the holy city of Transylvania, and the two Patriarchs expressed in the speeches delivered the joy to participate in such a great feast for Transylvania and for the entire country. His Eminence Metropolitan Chrisostom has also delivered a thanksgiving speech in the Cathedral full of priests and faithful of Transylvania.

According to the Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate, the Holy Head of Saint Andrew the Apostle was taken in procession to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sibiu, on the occasion of the proclamation of the canonisation of Saint Hierarch Andrei Saguna, Metropolitan of Transylvania, where it will remain till 29 October 2011, in the afternoon.

On 29 October 2011, the Holy Head of Saint Andrew, the Apostle, will be taken to the Archiepiscopal Cathedral of Alba Iulia, where it will remain till 31 October 2011, in the afternoon.
