Tahnoun Bin Mohammed receives Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church

WAM Al Ain, Jan 14th, 2010 (WAM) — HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern hailed the religious harmony and tolerance in the United Arab Emirates.
During a meeting in Al Ain with His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church, Sheikh Tahnoun also commended the freedom of worship in the country under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Christian leader, who is visiting the UAE for the inauguration of the Syrian Orthodox Church recently built in the Al Ain City, expressed profound gratitude to the UAE leadership for allocating a plot of land for the church.
Meeting was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Diwan of Ruler’s Representative in the eastern region, Judicial and Religious Affairs Advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs HE Ali Al Hashimi and officials from the Diwan of the Ruler’s Representative in the eastern region.
