ST. GEORGE SYRIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN AL AIN, CONSECRATED
The St. George Syrian Orthodox Church in Al Ain, was consecrated in a divine ceremony held on 14th and 15th of January by His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church, assisted by His Beatitude the Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I & other metropolitans of the Holy church. The first part of the consecration ceremony held on 14th evening was led by His Beatitude and on 15th His Holiness consecrated the Church with Holy Mooron.
Suryoyo Metropolitans Their Eminences Mor Philoxenos Mathias Nayis (Patriarchal Assistant), Mor Theophilos George Saliba (Episcopal Synod Secretary, Arch Bishop of Lebanon), Mor Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim (Arch Bishop of Aleppo and environs), Mor Clemis Daniel (Patriarchal Vicar of Beirut) and Metropolitans from Malankara Their eminences Mor Gregorios Joseph, Mor Theophilos Kuriakose, Mor Milithose Yuhanon, Mor Coorilos Geevarghese and Mor Aphrem Mathews were present during the consecration ceremony.
Padhma Shree Commander Yusuf Ali, His Excellency Sheik Ali Al Hashimi, His Excellency Dr. Rasthum Al Soubi (Syrian Ambassador to UAE) were among the prominent dignitaries who attended the ceremonies. Earlier when the Patriarch accompanied by Suryoyo metropolitans and Rev. Dn. Markose Abraham (Secretary to His Holiness for Malankara Affairs) arrived in U.A.E. Iinternational Airport, the delegation was a given a warm welcome by the Catholicos, the Metropolitans and the faithful.
