Primate of Ukrainian Orthodox Church Conducted Memorial Litia for Holodomor Victims of 1932-1933
On November 28 the tribute to the victims of the Ukrainian Famine (Holodomor) of 1932-33 is paid in Ukraine.
That day in the territory of the State Museum “Memorial of Holodomor Victims in Ukraine” (Mazepy str 15-а, Kyiv) the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine conducted memorial litia for the innocent victims-compatriots.
Concelebrating with His Beatitude were his vicar bishops: Archbishop Pavel of Vyshgorod and Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, Bishop Hilary of Makariv, Bishop Seraphim of Yahotyn and Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy (Secretary for the Primate of the UOC), and the Kyiv clergy.
In the course of the ceremony the Archpastor laid a flower wreath to the monument.
Singing the memorial chants at the divine service was the choir of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary under the guidance of Roman Pidlubniak.
