Moscow Patriarchate delegation begins visit to Georgian Orthodox Church

The Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church, His Holiness and Beatitude Iliya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, marks the 32nd anniversary of his enthronement on December 25, 2009.
With a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church arrived in Georgia on December 24. The delegation is led by Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus. It includes Archpriest Nikolay Korzhich, secretary of the Minsk diocesan administration, Rev. Igor Yakimchuk, acting secretary of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, Hierodeacon Antony (Doronin) and Mr. Ya. Pesin, staff member of the Minsk diocesan administration.
On the same day the delegation visited the patriarchal residence where they were received by Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya. Metropolitan Filaret conveyed to His Holiness Iliya greetings from Patriarch Kirill and the Holy Synod of the Byelorussian Orthodox Church. In the evening, Metropolitan Filaret, together with a large assembly of bishops and clergy of the Georgian Church, concelebrated All-Night Vigil with the head of the Georgian Church at the Cathedral of the Trinity in Tbilisi.
