The Birthday Anniversary of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr

On November 23 the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr celebrates his 74th birthday anniversary.
He has celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in concelebration of the ruling bishops and clergymen of the Diocese of Kyiv. Also praying at the liturgical service were chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church Archbishop Hilarion of Volokalamsk and Archbishop Seraphim of Ottawa and All Canada.
On behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill His Eminence Hilarion presented the UOC Primate with a panagia and read out the greeting address. The gift on the part of the Orthodox Church in America was a collection of works by Taras Shevchenko, published in 1952 and a medal with an image of the Patriarch of Moscow Tikhon.
On November 23 at the national Philharmonic Hall of Ukraine the solemn Academy will beheld on the occasion of the birthday of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr. On the program of the event those attending will have a possibility to listen to the oratorio “St. Matthew Passion” by Archbishop Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
