Mikhailovsky GOK gets award from Russian Orthodox Church Tuesday, 17 Nov 2009
Russian Orthodox Church highly appreciated Mikhailovsky GOK contribution to rebuilding Korennaya Pustyn Monastery.
Archbishop of Kursk and Rylsk German awarded MGOK Managing Director Mr Sergey Kretov with the 1st class Znamenskaya Medal of Russian Orthodox Church on a grand opening of the reconstructed Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Church on November 9th.
Archbishop of Kursk and Rylsk German said “We want to thank and honor everyone who helped us at the rebuilding of the Temple. It shows us the importance of Korennaya Pustyn Monastery as one of the major Russian religious and cultural centers.”
The reconstruction of the church was one of the conditions to return from USA Znamenskaya Icon of the Blessed Virgin. Icon has been out of Russia since 1920.
Mr Sergey Kretov said “MGOK could not stay aside from rebirth of the great Russian holy place. Every enterprise employee may consider himself as a participant of a kind and great deed rebuilding of the monastery as their hard work contributed to it.”
