Archbishop Vicken Aykazian appointed to US Presidential Task Force on Inter-Religious Dialogue

On May 14, His Eminence Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Legate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, and President of the National Council of Churches (NCC), was appointed to the Inter-religious Dialogue and Cooperation Task Force of President Obama’s Advisory Council.

The Inter-Religious Taskforce consists of approximately 12 distinguished leaders in the religious and ecumenical field, who discuss issues of importance to the president during a bi-weekly teleconference.
Over the past several months, Archbishop Aykazian has been involved in many discussions with members of the President’s Advisory Council with regard to peace in the Middle East and other topics of concern to churches.
